Ranked as "one of the most influential PR players of the decade" by PR WEEK magazine, and previously voted "PR professional of the Year" by the same magazine, Quentin is a former chairman of the industry body, the PRCA, where during his tenure between 1994 and 1996, he instigated the Consultancy Management Standard (CMS) to which all member firms should aspire, and which has since been adopted by 12 countries. He is author of two books THE PR BUSINESS and WIN THAT PITCH (Kogan Page).
Founder of The Quentin Bell Organisation (QBO) in 1973 "with no clients, no money and no talent" he built it up into one of Europe's leading consultancies before travelling full circle and diluting his majority shareholding to the management between 1990 and 1995, retaining just 25%. In 2000 QBO was sold to Lord Tim Bell's Chime Communications (no relation), and Quentin moved abroad to write a book called PENANCE IN PARADISE, later turned into a screenplay called RICH BASTARD. He is currently back in the UK charting his journey by writing his diaries called IT'S A LIFE.
"We all have a life", he explains, "and this is a summary of mine. I hope it is both funny and in parts sad but, whatever, I expect it to be poignant".
In Debrett's "People of Today" he lists amongst his pastimes the collecting of art, wine, parrots, classic cars - and compliments (something he rarely gets ...)
